OPTIONAL FINISHES – Wood or Fabric Panels The standard colour of your Zippel is an attractive light grey epoxy coated finish which blends with most modern office environments, but aesthetics are important to many of our discerning clients and we cater for those needs by providing various finishes in WOOD, FABRIC or PERFORATED steel panel attachments which enhance this appeal. Special epoxy colours are also available on request.

Do you need Fire Protection?
Statutory requirements mean that those documents must be protected under loss control procedures; special fire resistant panels are available as an optional extra providing peace of mind.

Quite simple, by mobilising filing cabinets on floor rails, required floor space is reduced by up to 80% without a loss in flexibility.

How is this achieved?
Traditional floor bound steel cabinet are deceptively space hungry, requiring 3 times their floor space to access drawers, cradles and open doors our mobile cabinets utilise space effectively by sliding units along rails, and having a single access shared by all units.

Operation Method
To gain access to the contents of each Zippel cabinet these must be moved open to step inside the system. Normally this is done by using a PULL HANDLE, but depending on how heavily these cabinets are loaded; there are other mechanical options which make the manual operation considerably easier.

A quantity of 16 - 4 Drawer steel Cabinets would occupy an effective floor space of 15m2 and these singe function suspension cabinets have a total filing capacity of only 34 filing meters.

Cost conscious? What about our entry level ZIPPEL®
This mobile system can be specified only with a few optional types of fittings such as shelves or filing cradles as it is primarily designed to accommodate Lever Arch files, folders or suspension files which is typical of storage required for most small archives.

What about security and access control?
The “low cost” type of mobile ZIPPEL are also supplied enclosed and lockable to prevent unauthorised access to documents or files, and this means there is less chance of files going missing or being lost.

Safety Features?
Safety is a prime consideration for our clients and of course even in this budget level system, features have been included to endure user safety, these features include ANTI TILT devices to prevent toppling and rubber buffer seals between sections to prevent hand injuries.

Functional but not pretty?
Most companies are not too concerned with “good looks” as their ZIPPEL will be out of site in a storeroom perhaps, but there are OPTIONAL extra finishes available… Wood or fabric panels can be fitted to enhance the appearance of the system.

Technical Notes - Kompress Ligier

Description: A Semi-automatic mobilised shelving system specifically designed for large document archives where the highest possible density or storage is required in the minimum possible floorspace necessitating the use of an electrical or mechanical system to operate and facilitate access to the moving rows of shelving.

Drive Operation
Handwheel

Operation is by power transmission from the handwheel to the drive shaft via a roller chain normally restricted to systems of maximum 6 bay widths or axle loads of 5 000 kg maximum.

ELECTRICAL MOTOR DRIVEN

In systems where the mass of the double moving wagons exceeds 15 000 kg it is advisable to employ motorised drive, by interlocking additional wagons to the drive it is possible to move several sections together, the shelving bays can be moved with a special emergency handle in the event of power failure. Positive drive is by rack and pinion systems concealed within the floor section.

ACCESS

With this type of system, access is gained by unlocking the section to be opened and operating the “drive wagon” to open or close the system, in normal specification this is not a totally enclosed system offering independent security for contents. The integrated floor section can be extended to allow for multiple access points or future expansion.

EXTENSIONS

This type of system can only be extended in length (rows) with the options to convert or add additional drive wagons as the system size increases to facilitate additional loads.

SAFETY

In the design of these large systems, safety features have been included, such as anti-tilt devices fitted to the wagons for stability and logic circuits designed for the electrically driven systems also prevent operation while someone is still within the system referencing information.

FIELD DEPTH

The standard field depth (390 mm) is suitable for all standard type documents, however special sizes are available on request.
